There has always been a demand for a smaller iPhone ever since Apple discontinued its 4-inch iPhone SE. Right now, the smallest iPhone available for Apple lovers is the iPhone 8, with a 4.7-inch display. But, things are expected to change very soon.
There have been rumors that Apple is planning to introduce a new iPhone SE under a new name (the iPhone 9) in 2020. However, the exact date of launch and its precise price is a mystery so far. Surprisingly, Apple has decided to release this new smartphone as ‘iPhone SE’.
In this article, we’ve represented the specs, design, features, price and releases date of the new iPhone SE.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, TF International Securities analyst, the new iPhone SE will have the same processor as we’ve seen in the iPhone 11 lineup. In addition to an A13 processor, the smartphone is expected to have 3GB Ram.
The previous iPhone SE was equipped with the A9 chip which as per expectation is going to be replaced. A Chinese report and a Tekz24 report suggests that Apple will offer the A10 Fusion chip, the same it has used in the iPhone 7).
Speculations about iPhone SE’s features seem true from a tweet posted by 9to5Mac’s Guilherme Rambo in August 2018. The tweet referred to a device code with an A10 processor and a P3-gamut display.
The new iPhone SE is expected to have a 4.7-inch screen and we shouldn’t expect the notch. According to the rumors and seeing its specs, it is very likely that the company will retain the Home button on the new SE 2 smartphone. However, some reports suggest that the new SE 2 may also feature a Face ID which means there may not be a Home button.
The new phone is expected to have many features of the old iPhone SE such as the camera. It may feature a 12MP camera with a 5MP or 7MP FaceTime camera. Hopefully, Apple will offer the new iPhone SE without a camera bump and it’ll have a flat back. Its battery is said to be between 1,640mAh and 1,700mAh to empower the slightly larger 4.7-inch display with a wireless charging option.
